STUFF IS HAPPENING

Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate it. Writing this post a little later than usual; a bunch of cool stuff went down this week. Most exciting is the new ground we broke with the two videos I posted earlier. Threw another mashup from the archives onto the channel featuring a silly lil' animation of Jinx from Arcane grooving to Maroon 5/CupcakKe/Imagine Dragons. Apparently people got a kick out of it, because that video got over 100 Instagram views in the first day. That's insane.  Even crazier  is the fact that I put out a new  animation/meme yesterday—drew and voiced some goofy interpretations of Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehogs based on a random comment exchange that's been living in my mind rent-free. That video has over 2,500  views. Holy hashtags, Batman. If anybody who saw those videos happens to be reading this post, thank you. You're the best. And if you like what you see, rest assured; more is on the way.  I posted my first project from Digital...

The Grind Goes On

How's it going gamers. It's another Friday, and you know what that means. You may have noticed a couple changes to the site. Since the last post, I've added a couple doodads and generally polished the place up a bit to serve its new purpose as my joint blog/portfolio. We now have a MENU! Comics, Drawings, Music, Videos. It's all gonna be here. Couple things up on most of those pages already; more on the way of course. I also consolidated those links I keep plugging into a tidy lil' tree. A Linktree of sorts. Now you don't have to keep scrolling back to the first post to find my socials (yaaay).  Week three of art schooling means that I am officially enrolled in Digital Art. That's what the page at the end will be for: showcasing all my blood, sweat, and tears from this semester. For those of you arriving at my blog from class, welcome. Make yourself at home. Unfortunately I can't afford refreshments so you'll just have to settle for cheap laughs and...

THE FUTURE OF THIS BLOG

Hey everyone, Howard here.  We are officially two weeks into my art education journey, and things are not going exactly as I'd envisioned them. Once again I find myself expecting too much too soon from the world around me. This first batch of classes isn't the life-changing experience I thought it would be. It's cool to learn and all, but at the end of the day it is just school . And as far as you and I are concerned, that's not gonna do much for the content of this blog. So between that and a couple other things I've decided to shift my focus here a bit. Moving forward I'm going to dedicate this site exclusively to sharing stuff I've done, stuff I'm working on, and stuff I plan to do.  On that note, let's take a look at what I actually have planned for this year: NEW COMIC SERIES  (Spring 2025) MOVIE (Summer 2025) BOOK (Fall 2025) SUPER SECRET PROJECT  (Winter 2025) It's nice to have a dedicated timeline of fun stuff to keep me busy throughout...

Act I, Scene I: Arrival

In which our hero finds himself in a strange and wondrous land. Happy Birthday to me. Today marks the official end of one week of my journey into art classes and one year of my journey into life. We're beginning our ascent nice and gently with an introduction to Digital Photography and Video Production—the studies of making cool images and making cool images that move, respectively. Admittedly not much happened these first two days. As time goes on I'll most likely end up using this blog as a journal of progress for various projects instead of just Diary of a Wimpy College Student , but for now we're still finding our footing. What I can say is that it doesn't look like the Video Production curriculum will be particularly favorable to this "future maker of funny projects". Expect to hear about four pieces over the next four months—a rescored movie scene, an instructional video, an audio-synced animation, and an interview—for none of which it is expected nor de...

PROLOGUE

Salutations, all. I'm Howard, an aspiring maker of funny projects, former Chemistry failure, and current Digital Art & Media major about to dive into the weird and wonderful world of art education—and you're coming with me. On this blog you'll find weekly updates about what I'm working on, when I'm working on it, how the magic happens, and almost always end up asking yourself "why?" But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's backtrack to something far more important: me.  I've been trying to entertain myself recreationally for as long as I can remember. From the short stories I penned in second grade to the comics that rocketed me to playground superstardom; from the academic award-winning public service announcements in high school to the poems and songs I scribble out when life gets me down. There's nothing that gives me greater fulfillment in life than putting way too much effort into a project and getting a quick laugh. It's what ...
