PROLOGUE
Salutations, all.
I'm Howard, an aspiring maker of funny projects, former Chemistry failure, and current Digital Art & Media major about to dive into the weird and wonderful world of art education—and you're coming with me.
On this blog you'll find weekly updates about what I'm working on, when I'm working on it, how the magic happens, and almost always end up asking yourself "why?"
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's backtrack to something far more important: me.
I've been trying to entertain myself recreationally for as long as I can remember. From the short stories I penned in second grade to the comics that rocketed me to playground superstardom; from the academic award-winning public service announcements in high school to the poems and songs I scribble out when life gets me down. There's nothing that gives me greater fulfillment in life than putting way too much effort into a project and getting a quick laugh. It's what got me through twelve years of public education.
So naturally when I was ripped from the quiet comforts of adolescence and thrust into the blinding light of adulthood, I chose to dedicate my life to the sciences. It was here that I made a startling discovery: apparently, building your existence around something you're fully aware you have limited interest in whilst actively ignoring the things you do does not make you happy (and also that twelve years of public education does not mean you are a fast learner).
To make a long story short, three years of community college later I'm finally getting a jump on what I should have been doing from the get-go. As I start taking myself seriously for once I think it'd be cool to document my journey from absolute nobody to (best-case scenario) vaguely-recognizable content creator. And who knows, if this thing does work out maybe it'll serve as an example that dreams can come true, kids.
For the first time in a long time, I have no idea what I'm getting into, and I couldn't be more excited. New subjects, new material, new projects, and I'll be raving and ranting about all of it here. Here's a sampling of what you, valued reader, can expect to see this year:
- Comical anecdotes! 😆
- Short films! 🎥
- Digital art! 🎨
- Photography! 📸
- Slightly less comical anecdotes! 😂
- Maybe a super-secret project or two that'll come out of nowhere and blow everyone away!
Gay.
